The Spaanse Water is one of the most popular stretches of water in Curaçao, and the reason is simple: it is calm. Sheltered from the open sea, it draws boats and water sports all year round. This is a two hour sail across it with Captain Herbert, who has been running trips here since 2012. The bar on board is open with soft drinks and water, a snack is included, and there is music playing while you cruise. The shoreline is half the show. Herbert points out which villa belongs to which celebrity, including the holiday home of the Dutch Royal family. In short: not a boat trip to skip when you are on Curaçao. Departure is at 10:00 from Vissershaven on the Spaanse Water. Please arrive on time; there is no pick-up service.
